Last night, Jessica substituted and taught the Hatha/Warm class at 5:30. Her style, her focus, and her knowledge shined throughout the class. It was such a revitalizing and powerful class. I really enjoyed every moment and wished it had gone on for 90 minutes! The instructors here are lovely. Most often, we love taking a class with Judie. She has such a warm and welcoming presence. Her style, attention to detail, and energy genuinely make you want to come back time and time again.
Took an evening hot vinyasa yoga session here. It is reasonably priced, but the studio is small. Not sure I would’ve called it yoga. The session felt very chaotic and super fast. The instructor was kind of all over the place & the music was a mix of loud pop and dancey music. Maybe should’ve named it “hot Pilates”.
Excellent space for yoga practice. Well located, reasonably priced, and nice atmosphere. I take Michelle’s Rise and Flow class, and it is an amazing, mindful, breath-centered way to start the day!
I had a terrible experience here. I've been doing yoga 15 years and never have I experienced this.
My friend and I prepaid for a 5:30pm class on their website. First time going. We planned to meet there. The monsoon had caused unexpected road blockages from fallen trees. I feared I may get there a few min late so I tried to call. Realized there was no phone number on the website. I texted my friend and she held me a spot while I found street parking.
I arrived at the studio door at 5:32 but it was locked. No one in sight. No phone number or signs. I texted my friend to let her know I was locked out. Someone walking by told me the owner/manager was same owner Brooklyn pizza and Sky bar. Walked over to Sky Bar. The employees said the manager Tony was out of town for an undefined time. I asked for a number. I asked if there was anyone else in charge to speak to. They said there was no one, no number, just an email. The employees were friendly yet unable to help, despite agreeing.
I then got a text back from my friend that she unlocked the door. I walked back over, opened to door and into class.. Immediately I was met with an enraged yoga instructor who loudly told me to get out. I told him I had prepaid and was locked out since 5:32. He said the door gets locked at 5:30, no exceptions. As a first time to the studio, I asked where that was listed. Not on the door not on the site. There isn't even a phone number to call. He didn't seem to care. He gave no answer. Just repeated I leave in an angry tone. My friend (a fitness instructor herself) was so upset by his tone she got up and left with me. We went back over to Sky to regroup out of the sweltering heat. A guy there who overheard me speaking to employees sympathized. He was a friend of the owner, and kindly offered $5 to offset some of the class cost.
Afterward, I emailed the owner Tony, no response yet and it's been a week. This place appears to be unprofessional. The instructor had no issue taking our money and refusing to provide service, over an unlisted yet necessary detail. No sensable explanation, no apologies, no kindness, no refunds. I will encourage other yoga friends not to go.
Love this studio! Each instructor is so friendly and each class flows so well- even allowing me to go deeper into poses. I always leave feeling rejuvenated 💪🏻
